How to assign a fixed IP address for the remote router of LAN to LAN VPN (PPTP & SSL VPN)?
Vigor Router will assign IP address from its LAN DHCP IP pool dynamically to the remote router of the LAN to LAN VPN. It is not an easy job for network administrator to manage the VPN network since the IP address may not be the same every time the VPN tunnel established. We can set the Vigor router to assign the same IP address for the remote router every time. Configurations below show how to assign a fixed IP address to a remote router of LAN to LAN VPN.
Vigor3900 and Vigor2960
Go to User Management >> User Profile, enter the IP address you would like to assign for the remote router as the Static IP Address.
For Vigor Router
Go to VPN and Remote Access >> LAN to LAN page, select the profile of the VPN tunnel you would like to configure. Enter the IP address for the remote router as the Remote Gateway IP.
After finishing the above configuration, Vigor router will assign the IP address we set to the remote router every time the VPN tunnel establishes.
