What should we do if we forget CPE's login password?

It caused much inconvenience if you forget the login password on CPE, it may need a factory reset to retrieve CPE, users have to reconfigure the setting.
If the device was managed by VigorACS2, we could have the workaround with this situation:

Method 1. Re-Configure the Password by Configuration Menu

Go to Device Menu > Configuration > System > Admin Account 

1. Expand your network tree and select the CPE which you want to change the password

   

2. Expand the Configuration Menu, and go to System > Admin Account to configure the new password for the user

   


Note: This method is not available for VigorSwitch so far.

Method 2. Use Advanced Parameter Tree to configure the TR069 parameter directly

1. Expand your network tree and select the CPE which you want to change the password
2. Expand the Configuration Menu, and go to System > Admin Account to configure the new password for the user

   

Here's the TR069 parameter for each series you could try to find:

  • DrayOS : InternetGatewayDevice.X_00507F_System.AdminmodePassword.Password
  • VigorAP: InternetGatewayDevice.X_00507F_System.AdminmodePassword.Password
  • 3900 Series : InternetGatewayDevice.X_00507F_System.AdminmodePassword.Password
  • VigorSwitch : InternetGatewayDevice.X_00507F_System.AccountManager.LocalUser.1.EditUser.Password

Method 3. Use Maintenance Feature (Support only DrayOS model currently)

1. Go to Maintenance > System Password Reset and select the device you want to reset the password.

  • Reset time(Now): ACS will request Password reset while receive next TR069 inform
  • Reset time(Scheduled): ACS will request Password reset while receiving next TR069 inform during the scheduled time

After resetting the password, you can use "admin" to retrieve the router.
