[Vigor3900] How to use Auto Configuration Backup function?
Support Model : Vigor2960Vigor300BVigor3900
Since firmware version 1.4.0, Vigor3900/2960/300B support Auto Configuration Backup function. After enabling it, Vigor Router will backup its configuration file to its storage automatically according to the time and interval configured on Vigor Router. In other words, network administrator don't need to plan the schedule for the manual configuration backup anymore!
The followings show the configurations to use Auto Configuration Backup feature.
1. Go to System Maintenance >> Configuration Backup >> Auto Backup page.
a. Tick Enable
b. Select Automatic Backup Interval, the interval could be Daily, Weekly or Monthly.
c. Enter the Backup Time in a day when interval Daily is used.
d. Enter the Backup Time in a day and select the date_weekday when interval Weekly is used.
e. Enter the Backup Time in a day and select the date_day when interval Monthly is used.
f. There is an option “Only Backup when config changed”.
When the option is enabled, Vigor Router will check if the config file has been changed since the last backup. If not, Vigor Router will not do the config backup when the configured backup time is reached.
2. After reaching the configured Auto Backup time, Vigor Router will backup the config file automatically. We can see the file in the same page and can do advanced action such as Download the config file to your computer or Restore the config file to Vigor Router.
Note: 20 config files are supported to save to local storage at most. When Vigor tries to backup the 21st config file, it will delete the oldest config file automatically.
