Q. I cannot access network resources, but the wireless signal quality is good.

Good signal quality means that your wireless card can be connected to your wireless router correctly. So now you have to check the configuration of your office/school network environment and your PC.

1. If the TCP/IP set is configured manually, check the Subnet, Gateway and DNS settings again.

2. Use "Ping Gateway IP (i.e. ping 192.168.40.1)" to check the gateway server of your office/school.

If it show something like "Reply from 192.168.40.1 :bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=128", this means you can connect to your gateway server so the connection between your PC and gateway is correct. Please go on to the next step..

If it shows "Request timed out.", this means you cannot connect to your gateway server so the problem must be caused from the network configuration of your office/school. You should recheck Switch/Hub, Modem, Cable and TCP/IP configuration, or ask MIS/ISP for help.

3. After you had confirmed that your computer can connect to the Gateway. Use "Ping 168.95.1.88" to check the connection between Gateway and Internet.

If it shows something like "Reply from 168.95.1.88: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=128", it means you can connect to Internet. But if you still cannot use IE/Netscape to browse web sites, this must be or ask MIS/ISP for help.

If it shows "Request timed out.", that means you cannot connect to Internet. That must be caused from Gateway's setting, recheck it or ask MIS/ISP help.
