Q. What are the differences between VPN and ISDN LAN-to-LAN connections ?

There are two kinds of LAN-to-LAN connections, VPN and ISDN LAN-to-LAN connection. For VPN LAN-to-LAN connection, a VPN connection is made by two VPN gateway through the Internet. While the Internet connections can be either ADSL, Cable modem, or ISDN ( for those models with build-in ISDN interface ).

For LAN-to-LAN connections through ISDN, a direct ISDN connection is build-up between two LANs, This type of connections are possible for Vigor2200X, 2200W, 2600X, 2600W, and other products with ISDN interfaces.

Please be advised it is not possible for two devices to start a LAN-to-LAN connection if one is using VPN LAN-to-LAN while the other is using ISDN LAN-to-LAN.
