Which CODEC is best to select ?
Vigor VoIP routers support various different Codecs ;
G.729A/B ( 8Kbps )
G.711MU/A ( 64Kbps )
G.723 ( 6.3Kbps )
Each CODEC uses a different bandwidth and hence provides different levels of voice quality. The more bandwidth the CODEC of Vigor VoIP routers is G.729A/B; it occupies little bandwidth while maintaining good voice quality.If your upstream speed is only 64Kbps, please do not use G.711 CODEC. It is better for you to have at least 256Kbps upstream to use G.711 CODEC. |
