Q. Why can't I pick up a DHCP IP from the router?
•
Here are some hints might be useful.
1. Please make sure if you have enabled the DHCP server of the router.
2. Please note in some models with the VPN feature, if you enable the VPN service, router will reserve some IPs for the
Dial-in VPN clients.
On condition that you have set a very small network for your LAN,
the VPN service may already consumed most of available DHCP
IPs.
and that may cause the failure in obtaining a DHCP IP. So please try to deploy a larger local network or make corresponding modification for 'Start IP Address'.
• Some further
hints for wireless DHCP client.
1. Please check if you've enabled the access control. If so, please make sure that your wireless card is in the MAC list.
2. If you use WEP encryption, please check if you select the same Key index in both AP and client's settings.
3. Try to change the SSID, because maybe you're connecting the next door's WLAN which has the same SSID with yours.
