Q. How to upgrade firmware of Vigor Router remotely ?

1. Set a password for Vigor Router via Administrator Password Setup.

2. Mark "Enable Remote Firmware Upgrade ( FTP )" option via Router Web Configurator>Management Setup.

3. Make sure port 21 is not used by another PC. If it has been used, please change the default ftp port from 21 to another port.

4. Use any FTP program in the remote site. Please open an FTP connection to the router's public ( WAN ) IP address with the username 'admin' and the administrator password you have set on Vigor. A regular directory will appear as per the example shown below and you can now transfer the appropriate firmware .ALL file.

(We do not recommend you to send the .rst firmwre file for that will then clear the router settings, so that you will be unable to access it until someone configures it locally.)

5. Vigor will reboot TILL you close the ftp program. After that, Vigor could be back online shortly and You can login Router again to check if the firmware has been upgraded successfully.

Note: Expect Vigor2200 series router, all Vigor models support the function.
