How to connect to Vigor Router with WPA2 authentication ?


Note: only WLAN HW V2 and above version support WPA2 authentication. Click here to know your WLAN HW version.

Vigor Router setting : ( take Vigor2100VG for example )

1. Select WPA/PSK Only mode, Mixed ( WPA + WPA2 ) or WPA2 only mode and input the Pre-Sared Key via Wireless LAN -> Security page.



Note : WPA2 is only supported on models equipped with hardware version 2 WLAN card.

Please check if it is version 2 via Wireless LAN Information.





Wireless Client settings : ( take Vigor550 for example )

Note : Wireless client also needs to support WPA2/AES encryption, if you cannot make sure, please contact the manufacturer of the wireless card for further information.

1. Please download WPA2 patch ( KB893357 ) via www.microsoft.com then install the patch file.



2. Open Wireless Network Connection via Control Panel -> Network Connections.

You'll see all the available wireless network. Select the AP/SSID that you want to connect then press Connect button.



If you fail to see the available wireless networks, please check if the Wireless Zero Configuration service is enabled. You could enable the WZC service via Control Panel -> Administrative Tools - > Services -> Wireless Zero Configuration.



3. There will be a window popped up and ask you to input the key. Please input the same Pre-Shared Key you set in Vigor Router here then press Connect.



4. The connection will be established after a few seconds. And you could see the status changed to Connected.
