3. How to set up MAC Address Control function ?

Note : Only Vigor2100V, Vigor2200V, 2900 and 2900V series router support MAC Address Control function .

MAC Address Control function is a new function that Draytek provide to allow or disallow Internet Access by MAC Address.

Please follow the steps below to set up MAC Address Control.

Scenario I. Only several department directors are allowed to access the outside during the working hours, while all the other personnel is restricted.

1.Find the MAC addresses on Directors' machines. Please get into the OS Command Prompt or MS-DOS interface. Then type "ipconfig/all"

2.Go to -> Advanced Setup -> Call Schedule Setup, and configure the permitted time period. (Monday to Friday, 9:00AM to 18:00PM)

Note:

(1). The "Action" & "Idle Timeout" option should be ignored.

(2). The Router System Time should be correct for functionality.
(If not, please go to Time Setup to configure the Time settings first)

3. Go to -> Advanced Setup -> IP Filter / Firewall Setup -> MAC Address Control Setup, enter the MAC addresses, set the Pass Scheduler index, and activate the rules.

4. And don't forget the check "Block traffic" for "For hosts not listed in this table" option, so as to restrict the other machines.

Scenario II. I want my children to be prevented from the internet access. So the Vigor should provide a 24-hours around-time block for my children's machines.

1. Find your children machines' MAC address.

2. Go to -> Advanced Setup -> IP Filter / Firewall Setup -> MAC Address Control Setup, enter the MAC addresses, set the Pass Scheduler index, and activate the rules.

Note: if you leave the Pass Scheduler empty, Vigor will regard this rule as Always Allowed. Hence, there is two ways to provide a "full" block:

(1). Go to -> Advanced Setup -> Call Schedule Setup, and set the Duration Time to 0.

Then type the corresponding Call Scheduler index in -> Advanced Setup -> IP Filter / Firewall Setup -> MAC Address Control Setup.

(2). Go to -> Advanced Setup -> IP Filter / Firewall Setup -> MAC Address Control Setup, and enter a non-existed (inactive) Call scheduler index.

3. Set "Pass traffic" for "For hosts not listed in this table" option, so that the parents can surf the internet.
