QoS
http and e-mail traffic :
David is downloading a computer game. Jane's e-mail is an
important contract. It is obvious that David can want more
time as it is very low priority for the company. In this case,
we can set http downloads be limited to a very low priority
of 10% and e-mail downloads to higher priority of 50% as follows:
1. Enable the QoS Control, choose Direction "IN" and type the bandwidth ratio that you'd like to reserve for the service types in QoS Control Setup.
2. "Add" http(TCP:80) service type to class index 1 in "Basic" Configuration.
3. "Edit" the existent rule in "Advanced" Configuration. We need to change Source IP Address from ANY to 192.168.1.10(David PC's IP Address) in this example.
4. "Add" POP3(TCP:110) and SMTP(TCP:25) service types to class index 2 in "Basic" Configuration.
5. "Edit" the existent rule in "Advanced" Configuration. We need to change Source IP Address from ANY to 192.168.1.11(Jane PC's IP Address) in this example.
6. Now we can see the QoS bandwidth status in QoS Online Statistics.(If the bandwidth for e-mail service is not full, the left bandwidth will be allocate for other services.)
