Q.
How to set two Vigor3100s in back to back VPN mode ?
Vigor3100 is an G.SHDSL VPN router which supports both CO and CPE mode. The feature is useful in connecting two different networks without accessing Internet.
Please follow the figure and the steps below to configure
two Vigor3100s in back to back mode.
CPE settings :
1. Configure one Vigor3100 as CPE mode and select the Annex Type via Internet Access >> DSL settings.
The Annex Type on both Vigor3100s should be the same. And
we could select the sync rate to be fixed or adaptive.
2. Configure Encapsulation as 1483 Bridge mode, input VPI, VCI and specify an IP address. Encapsulation, VPI and VCI value should be the same on both sides. Currently only bridge mode is supported while using back to back structure. So the VAN IP address of the two Vigor3100s should be in the same IP network.
3. Check if the DSL status is Show Time via Online Status page.
4. Configure one VPN LAN to LAN profile to reach the remote network via VPN and Remote Access >> LAN to LAN >> Profile Index:1.
5. Click Dial and see if the VPN tunnel is up. If the tunnel is up, the two networks behind the two Vigor3100s can reach each other.
CO settings :
1. Configure one Vigor3100 as CO mode and select the Annex Type via Internet Access >> DSL settings. The Annex Type on both Vigor3100s should be the same. And we could select the sync rate to be fixed or adaptive.
2. Configure Encapsulation as 1483 Bridge mode, input VPI, VCI and specify and IP address. Encapsulation, VPI and VCI value should be the same on both sides. Currently only bridge mode is supported while using back to back structure. So the WAN IP address of the two Vigor3100s should be in the same I network.
3. Check if the DSL status is Show Time via Online Status page.
4. Configure one VPN LAN to LAN profile for the remote Vigor3100 to dial in via VPN and Remote Access >> LAN to LAN >> Profile Index:1.
5. Check if the VPN tunnel is up. If the tunnel is up , the two networks behind the two Vigor3100s can reach each other.
If accessing Internet is also required in this scenario, please
connect the Internet gateway device ( could be another router
) in Vigor3100's LAN side and make LAN PC's gateway pointed
to the IP address of the Internet gateway.
